Salmon-Safe Products
Look for the Label
When you buy Salmon-Safe products, you’re purchasing from growers across BC who care about reducing the impact of their agricultural operations on nearby watersheds and Pacific Salmon habitat. Agriculture can affect salmon habitat and water quality in various ways, for instance, through erosion and runoff, excessive irrigation, high-hazard pesticide use, and lack of vegetation. Salmon-Safe BC encourages farmers and viticulturists to adopt ecologically sustainable agricultural practices and adhere to the Salmon-Safe Agriculture Standards. In Salmon-Safe’s history, our certified producers have sold a variety of agricultural commodities, including mixed berries and vegetables, grains, tomatoes, peppers, root crops, honey, corn, herbs, eggs, wine grapes, chicken, beef, wool and yarn, and more. Some Salmon-Safe products end up in distilling, brewing, and winemaking operations. We’re excited to see this list of products expand!
